The Dothan Eagle is pleased to announce a new hardcover coffee-table book, “Dothan Memories: A Pictorial History of the mid-1800s through the 1960s.”

This beautiful, heirloom-quality book will feature a glimpse of the Dothan area from the mid-1800s to 1969 through stunning historic photos and will truly capture the rich heritage of our area. We are thrilled to include photos from our readers, in addition to photos carefully selected from the archives of the Dothan Houston County Library, Troy University-Dothan, and private collector Frank Gaines.

East of Downtown in the 1960’s

Why did the area around lids on furniture and that end of downtown not shown? My Grandfather had a watch shop next door to liddons! and I didn’t see the old rail yard that was where the Red light at the road that goes to the Civic Center?
