The Journal Star is pleased to present this installment of Peoria Memories.

This one picks up there and covers the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s. Grouped into nine themed chapters are scores of photographs showing our ancestors and the city they built for us. Some of these photos are from our own archives here at the Journal Star. Others are from the collections of the Peoria Historical Society and the Peoria Public Library, for which we are extremely grateful. More so, we thank all you readers who dug through attics and albums for other pictures of our hometown and those who lived, really lived, here.
