The Tahoe Daily Tribune and the Lake Tahoe Historical Society present a history of the South Shore of Lake Tahoe told through photographs, captions, and stories to showcase the South Shore's growth, daily realities, struggles, and most of all - its people. 

Combine all the elements of a thrilling Western tale - Native Americans, the famous Gold Rush, Ladies of the Night, silver barons, gambling, treacherous passes, unbearable winters and tranquil summers, and the result is the South Lake Tahoe Historic Album, a collection of images that captures the area's priceless heritage. Lake Tahoe has enjoyed a rich and colorful history that continues to this day.
